I do so love a good tea party. The itty bitty cucumber sandwiches, the fancy plate stands, the crumbly scones, the hot tea doctored with cream and sugar. Yes, please. You throw a tea party and I’LL BE THERE….with bells on. And white chocolate scones in tow! Every spring I help organize a huge tea party fundraiser for student scholarships to Freed Hardeman University. The big tea party has become very near and dear to my heart, so tea parties in general have become “my thing.” And since autumn is also “my thing,” I longed to marry the two. And a couple of years ago, my daydream came true…
See, about four years ago, some friends and I created a Pinterest Partiers group. We’ve done all kinds of different parties – wedding/baby showers, pumpkin decorating parties, Valentine’s projects, Christmas ornament/cookie swaps…all gathering inspiration from Pinterest. It’s been totally fun and if you have a group of crafty friends (or friends who want to become craftier!) you should absolutely create a group of your own. I love these girls and we’ve had the best time! I will be forever grateful for their help in making my autumn tea party idea become a reality. =)
My parents have a wonderful back patio where we held the party – and since it was a special occasion, I hired Joshua Sells (an FHU student) to take pictures for us. Good memories! And to be completely honest, a lot of work. Ha! 😉 But it was still wonderful…
