This month’s scripture writing plan is sure to challenge us as we write on the topic of Surrender. Surrendering doesn’t come naturally, but it’s a must if we want to follow Christ. Jesus cannot be our Savior if He isn’t also our Lord. We won’t worship at the throne in Heaven if He isn’t on the throne of our hearts.
When we put ourselves on the throne, we often invite calamity without realizing it. We depend totally upon ourselves, idolizing our abilities and talents. We put lots of needless pressure on ourselves, and we expect perfection from this god we’ve made of ourselves. It’s a heavy weight to bear- and when we [inevitably] can’t always deliver, we are beside ourselves with anxiety.
Surrendering to the Father brings peace. We find a peace that passes understanding when we put ourselves in His capable hands.
