We’re excited to share the theme for February’s Scripture Writing: Change of Heart. “Heart” is one of those words with multiple meanings–we often think of the circulatory organ, a shape, or the center of something. This month, however, we’re going to be focusing on another meaning, a person’s innermost thoughts and feelings.
Fun fact: Words like “cardiac” or “cardiology” have their root in the Greek word kardia, which means heart.
This month’s theme will show us various ways that we might have a change of heart. We often change our thoughts and intentions – sometimes for the worse – and often relying solely on emotions.
As long as we still have breath in our lungs, we can experience a change of heart in either direction. We must never be arrogant enough to say, “I would never fall away from God!” We must be watchful and listen to the warnings from the pages of Scripture that tell us how to avoid a hardened or stubborn heart.
