January Scripture Writing Plan: Chosen

“I choose you.”

What beautiful words. After all, doesn’t everyone want to be chosen? No one wants to be a second choice, a backup option. We want to be wanted.

Guess what? God chose you.

Yes, you read that right. He chose you. Sinful you. Broken you. Hot mess you. He chooses you every day, and He’ll choose you for eternity. All you have to do is choose Him back.

Pretty amazing, right?

That’s why our 2024 theme for Scripture Writing is Chosen. We’ll spend January writing about how God chose His people. He chose Abram to establish a great nation. We’ll see Him choosing these people repeatedly–not because they were perfect but because He had promised to love and bless them. In the New Testament, we’ll write about how God’s family isn’t about having a particular DNA but an obedient heart that chooses God above all else.

I love how the topics for 2024 weave together, forming an exquisite tapestry of God’s plan for redemption. It’s a plan that shows the almighty wisdom of our Creator, and it’s a plan that compels us to respond. We hope this year’s Scripture Writing enriches your spiritual life.
