The account preserved in Esther is a *good* story.

The account preserved in Esther is a *good* story. Mordecai and Esther make a good hero and heroine, respectively. However, any goodness that a person has is ultimately a reflection of God, the only One who is *truly* good.

So while we have celebrated Esther and Mordecai throughout our scripture writing this month, let’s wrap up our thoughts with a few parallels in this final glimpse. Pondering these can draw us closer to our Father and to our Savior through this beautiful book.

*Esther 2:15 - winning favor

This is exactly as Jesus grew up, in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. If we want to look like Esther, and ultimately like our Savior, then we will conduct ourselves in a way that first honors God and seeks to glorify Him, and then allow Him to use that to influence others for Him - even if the circumstances aren’t what we might choose. (Orphan, King’s harem)

*Esther 4:1 - weeping over the people

This reminds us of Jesus weeping over Jerusalem. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. We should never celebrate anyone being lost, but instead, let the lost state of others - their certain destruction if they deny God - cause us to weep!

*Esther 4:14 - for such a time as this

We know that God is able to orchestrate things to happen at just the right time. We know from the New Testament that in the fullness of time - Galatians 4:4 - after 400 years of silence since the prophets, when there was a common language, access to a vast road system...at such a time as THIS, God sent His Son to build up a kingdom that would never see an end.

*Esther 4:16 - if I perish, I perish

Esther was tried by facing death, and the answer was that she was saved from wrath; the people were facing certain death and their answer was salvation. When Jesus prayed in the garden - God’s answer to His prayer was that WE would be saved from wrath through Jesus’ bearing that wrath for us. How often God saves His people from destruction at the expense of allowing His only Son to die! God is so good to us.

We so enjoyed thinking on being "Worthy" (because of Him! 💗) with 1,500 women at the Transform Ladies Conference (TLC) this past weekend in Pigeon Forge. 😄 Lots of singing, great lessons, fun skits, and meeting & chatting with so many other like-minded ladies. It was as lovely as it sounds. 😉

Plus, one hotel room for 4/5 of the Ruffled Mango team (we missed Christy!) That itself equaled lots of laughter & stories & bonding time. 💗

Of course there was coffeeshop time, where we sorted out the rest of the 2024 plans. 😉 We can't wait to share everything very soon!

We are very blessed to have each other - and to have you all - and to enjoy our Father God who makes us sisters in Him. Feeling grateful for a busy-but-happy weekend! 🙏🏼 ~Kristen

For centuries, the story of Esther has captured our imaginations. We're drawn in by the royal setting, the intense drama, and the remarkable bravery. But much like her beauty, Esther's story goes far deeper than the surface. It's a reflection of God's faithfulness, even when He seems far away.

A few of us (Kristen, Ashley, and Kelly) studied Esther in our Tapestry groups last year. We knew we had to include it in this year's plan. Not only does her story demonstrate the radiance of a faithful and humble heart, but it also shows God's radiant love. 💗 His love can reach through captivity, through threats of danger, and even through silence.

The simple fact is that everything we experience on earth is temporary; it’s passing away. When we eat, no matter how delicious and nutritious the food is, we will be hungry again in a few hours. When we drink the purest coldest water, it will still only quench our thirst for a matter of time.

We were made to seek something better!

Naaman was cleansed at the point of obedience, but

Naaman was cleansed at the point of obedience, but no one would give him the credit. On the contrary! He and his company walked away changed by the power of God.

Let’s go forward to Jesus. While completing His ministry on earth, He came across a man who had been born blind.

Jesus spit on the ground and made mud with His saliva. He then told the man to wash in the pool of Siloam.

WHAT healed the blind man? WHEN was the blind man healed?

Stop and think for a moment. If the blind man had refused to wash in the pool of Siloam, would he have received his sight?

It was not the water that healed these men. Their works did not heal them. It was the power of God in both cases. They received healing when they obeyed out of faith. Obedience was a *condition* of their healing, it was not the *source* of their healing.
