Jesus was radical. Not in the feel-good, super-chill, “accept anything and everything” way that the world paints Him. No, Jesus was radical because His message was countercultural:
Deny yourself. Take up your cross. Follow me.
That message is still countercultural. It’s radical. In a world that lifts up and glorifies sin, we are called to glorify God. When we live in self-denial and obedience to God, we’re rebelling against the culture.
We’re the revolutionaries.
Humility was perfectly displayed by Jesus here on earth and we are called to display that characteristic also. So, what is humility? That’s exactly what this month’s Scripture writing plan is all about. You’ll write verses that describe humility, how God allows His people to be humbled, and what humility produces. (Hint: very good things!)
Humility isn’t hating yourself. It’s forgetting yourself. Humility requires us to look to God. Humility demands that we approach life and Scripture with this truth in mind:
It’s not about you.
This earth was created through the goodness of God. Humans were created in the image of God. We were created to glorify God. We are saved because of the sacrifice offered by God. Heaven will be worth it all because we will be in the presence of God.
It’s ALL about God.
Our prayer is that this month’s plan will help you draw closer to God and forget yourself in His love and mercy.
As a special sale this month, we’re opening the vault and pulling out TWO of our past Bible studies that go along with this month’s current theme. First of all, Pride & Perfection focuses on the OPPOSITE of humility. (Though the Perfection part is all about God, the only perfect being.) Our second one is Confidence in Christ because it’s absolutely not about our talents or looks, but our true confidence should be found right there in Christ. 💗
Both of these studies are $7 off all this month (June 2024)…meaning they’re only $1 each! The coupon code is already applied to these links. AND you’ll notice that if you purchase either Pride & Perfection or Confidence in Christ (or both!) of these that the TEACHER LICENSE is included. That means if you teach teenage girls or ladies Bible classes or lead a small group, you can print & use & distribute ANY of the materials included. Which is a great deal even at full price ($8) – but especially for $1!
