Christmas Day is quickly approaching and there’s a chance that you’re still stumped on a few items to finish up your shopping, right? The Ruffled Mango team is here to help! If you haven’t seen Ashley’s post yesterday with Christmas gift ideas for the little people in your life, check it out here. It’s a fantastic list! I already loved to gift Melissa & Doug items, but there are a ton of other ideas that I’m going to be stealing for Christmas and also upcoming events and birthdays. 😉
Today, though, we’re gonna tackle the Christmas gift ideas for adults in your life – parents, spouses, friends…all of them likely have personality traits that’ll give you some hints – there’s the home cook, the coffee snob, the world traveler, etc. What better way to say “I know you well” than to gift them with a little happiness specifically tailored to their passions? I know I always appreciate that someone took a minute to think of me.
First of all, STOP before you do any more shopping! I only wish I had known about Ebates last Christmas. I bought most of our Christmas presents (plus I help my dad buy for my mom) from Kohl’s last year and didn’t know until January that Ebates would have given me 6% back on my purchases there. Arghhhh!!! But I know now and you better believe I take advantage of any rebates that pop up while shopping online. Plus, when I first signed up, I got a $10 Walmart gift card. And when I referred a few folks who started using Ebates also, I got a $50 bonus. Um, yeah, so it’s worth it. It’s sooo easy to use, too – when I shop online, a little box pops up on each site that offers a rebate. Then I just click to activate it. Even while booking hotels sometimes! I’ve used it year-round, but Christmas seems to be the time for the highest rebates in general. 😉 I’m not certain there are any rebates for the Amazon items I’ve posted below – Amazon is a bit different than other companies. Instead of a flat rebate for any item, they post particular rebates for certain departments. Just a word to the wise. (Edited to add that I DID use Ebates this last Christmas in 2016 and it was awesome!! I made about $60 back just after Christmas shopping. I’ve made $262.53 in total in the last 2 years. Easiest and most hassle-free money I’ve ever earned!)
O.K., let’s get started on this fun list! (I loooove gift idea lists!)
For the traveler: Before we went to Chicago, I bought this set of credit card protectors to guard against identity theft as we traveled in the big city. This pack also comes with 2 passport protectors also, which I was excited about. The price is good and I like the designs on these. Not too girly or anything. They’d make a great stocking stuffer. =)
I’m a big fan of anything that distinguishes my luggage from everyone else’s on the baggage carousel. A set of cute luggage tags will do the trick!
I love my Kindle and I love to travel with my Kindle. I can download books on there and I can peruse Pinterest on there. Every once in awhile, I even play a game on there. (I’m not a big game person, but I like some word games here and there.) I think I’ve used it almost every day since Jeremy gave it to me!
For the tea drinker: This is the tea that Keli was raving about last week. =) I think these tins are adorable and I love using the sachets instead of the regular tea bags. You can buy a 3-pack on Amazon to use for 3 separate presents. They also have it in decaf, which is what I usually drink. It’s naturally sweet, so you may not need sugar or anything!
And if your person is a loose-tea aficionado, this is a fun little steeper that I gave my mom earlier this year. A sweet tea cup or pretty teapot with creamer/sugar is always a welcome gift for a tea partier, too. 😉 I’m obsessed with that whole Royal Albert set. I’d love it for my own table. =) Ah, this tea-for-one teapot is a Christmas one I haven’t seen before! (Great price, too!)
I’m also loving this wrapped canvas teacup picture, especially if the recipient also loves to read. =)
For the coffee drinker: I gave this Ekobrew Stainless Steel Elite, Refillable K-Cup For Keurig K-Cup Brewers to Jeremy as part of a Valentine’s gift, if I remember right, earlier this year. He’s used it twice a day since! It’s way heftier than the plastic ones he was using. Because, yes, we have a Keurig, but no, we hardly ever buy actual disposable K-cups anymore. Because he’s become a coffee snob and we only order whole bean from coffeeam.com these days. I’m not a huge coffee drinker anymore since I avoid caffeine most of the time, but I do get a sip of his almost every night after supper. It smells too good to resist! Our favorites are Ethopian Yirgacheffe, Tanzanian Peaberry, and Burundi Kirimiro. Those are honestly the best-tasting coffees I’ve ever had.
As I said, we buy whole bean – and we’ve used this little coffee grinder for about 4 years now. Still going strong! And very cost effective.
This mug cracks me up. 😉
And if your coffee drinker doesn’t own a Yeti, well, you must rectify that! Jeremy (and literally everyone else I know who has one) is obsessed with it. I’m not linking to Amazon on this one, though, because they’re ridiculously high online right now ($72 for the 20 oz. – INSANE) If you live near Henderson, check at Four Seasons Nursery – my cousin works there and I know they try their best to keep them in stock. =)
For the health nut: I bought this Witmer Company Peanut Butter Mixer, Model 300 for my dad’s birthday earlier this year. Because when you’re trying to be healthier and purchase those natural nut butters (my parents like almond butter, too) it can be a bit trying to mix up the separated oils back into the solid part. This little tool makes it easy!
Jeremy bought this Veggetti Spiral Vegetable Slicer, Makes Veggie Pasta last year and we love to make zucchini “noodles” sautéed in olive oil and garlic. It makes a GREAT low carb option to hold your spaghetti sauce – plus, you get more vegetables in your meal. Plus, it’s really delicious!
For the fashionista: Do you know about Jane.com? Because we mangoes love shopping at Very Jane! They always have a ton of trendy boutique items (my favorite: the tunics! And I bought a gold leaf pendant there that I wear alllll the time) for some great deals. Definitely check it out for a fashion-forward gift…or let’s be real, a gift for yourself. 😉 Because you might get some Christmas money, right? Up to 80% off New Deals added every day at Jane.com! Shop today!
For the cozy-queen: I bought these Flora&Fred Women’s 3 Pair Pack Vintage Style Patchwork Cotton Crew Socks for myself a few weeks ago and I think they are so stinkin’ cute! They have a huge variety of them and they come packed in a cute little box, so they’re perfect for gifting. =)
I bought some gray Lamo boots last winter and I wore them almost every day. They still look great! They’re warm and soft inside and the outside repels water and stains, so win-win. They’re as cozy and comfortable as house slippers, and a ton cheaper than Ugg’s – and this year’s style is even cuter than last year’s, in my opinion, so I’m seriously considering investing in another pair:
Lamo Water Resistant Suede Boots w/ Faux Fur – Sable They make my feet happy!
And of course I’ve told you about my obsession with polar fleece sheets before…they were gifted to us and we immediately turned around and started gifting them ourselves. These
Malden Mills King Super Soft Polarfleece Sheet Set are magically cozy.
How many people burn candles to make their house cozy, especially during the fall and winter? How many people get annoyed with trimming their wick just right, so the flames won’t leap out of the jar? Yep, that was me. Until I found a Wickman Candle Wick Trimmer, Matte Black. These things are GREAT. So much better than scissors! Perfect gift to go along with a candle. 😉
For the quirky sense of humor: Do you remember the show Pushing Daisies: The Complete First and Second Seasons (Blu-Ray)? Ahhh, it was one of my favorites. It was completely and adorably off-kilter. And it’s not on Netflix. But you can find it on Amazon! Yahoo!! Fantastic gift for your adorably off-kilter friend. 😉
For the cook/baker: I loved using my Beater Blade for several years, but it bit the dust when I was shredding chicken with my KitchenAid (may it rest it peace) but I’m thinking I may need to replace it with this little guy: KitchenAid KFE5T Flex Edge Beater for Tilt-Head Stand Mixers. This one is metal instead of plastic, so it would be more durable for Pinterest’s hair brained schemes, like shredding chicken with your KitchenAid. (Um, I may skip that idea next time!)
Last year I bought all of the cooks in our family a copy of this Home Cooking Holiday Recipes Keepsake Collection. We’re going to each add some of our most popular holiday recipes (I think we’re going to handwrite some and then print/insert others) – it’ll be a somewhat continual process, but I’m excited to have a family heirloom of our most loved recipes. =)
And you might know that The Pioneer Woman has a few cookbooks…those make great gifts (whether you’re giving or receiving!) This is her latest creation: The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime: Comfort Classics, Freezer Food, 16-Minute Meals, and Other Delicious Ways to Solve Supper!
For the lawn care specialist: I bought these Custom Leathercraft 125M Handyman Flex Grip Work Gloves, Medium for Jeremy and my father-in-law (and probably my dad) a couple of years ago for part of their Christmas gifts. Jeremy just told me the other day that those are really good work gloves and he’s used them so much that they’re wearing out a bit. So, guess what he’s getting in his stocking this year?? 😉 (If Jeremy is reading this: NOPE, you guessed wrong. Or was it right? I guess you’ll just have to wait and see…)
Also, Jeremy picked out this ProPlugger 5-IN-1 Lawn & Garden Planting Tool. Bulb Planter, Flower Planting Tool, Turf, Lawn, Sod or Grass Plugger, Weeding Tool, Soil Sampler, Ground Cover Planting Tool a few years ago when he was plugging some zoysia (his favorite grass in all the land) and he loves it. We got one for his dad, too! They both said it’s a lot easier to use than another kind of sod plugger they’ve tried.
For the crafter: I’m pretty excited…I’m getting a Silhouette Cameo — Starter Bundle for Christmas. And I already know it because it was an Amazon Deal of the Day a couple of weeks ago, so I got the go-ahead to order it. Yahoooo!! I CANNOT wait to play! 😉 As Keli said, “This is going to completely change your crafting game.” Ha!
And last of all…I know that gifts are NOT the most important part of Christmas. But when choosing and giving “the perfect gift” is a way you show love, that becomes an important part of your holiday experience. Enjoy it! 😉
