Happy Fall, y’all! I’m excited to get some autumn colors on our social media pages, but I’m even more excited about our topic. If you’ve been writing scripture with us all year, you will probably remember that we wrote about “The Good Shepherd” in April. And this month we’ll write about “The Lamb of God.” It’s profound to me that Jesus fulfilled BOTH of these roles. ❤️ But we shouldn’t really be surprised because Jesus Himself told us: “The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (John 10:11)
I love how Kelly gets us ready for this month’s theme of The Lamb of God:
“We’re about to follow the thread through the Old Testament sacrificial system which leads us to the perfect sacrifice of Christ. You’ll write about the Passover lamb and the antitype of Jesus, demonstrating how God has perfectly woven His plan throughout the ages. You’ll end the month with a glorious snapshot of heaven’s throne, where the Lamb will be for eternity.”
I think you’re going to love this theme as much as we do! It’s so helpful to go back through the Old Testament verses to really understand that God had a perfect plan all along. And Jesus – the Lamb of God – is certainly the key piece of God’s plan and the only way it would work.
