The word “scheme” refers to “a large-scale systematic plan or arrangement for attaining some particular object or putting a particular idea into effect.” Similar words or phrases would include game plan, course of action, design, or strategy. To redeem means to purchase or buy back; when we think of redemption in light of the scriptures, we see the purchase of our souls by Jesus Christ saving us from sin and death. Combining these terms gives us our topic of study. We want to dive into the grand scheme or strategic plan that the God of heaven and earth set in motion before the beginning of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
We find the working of miracles and the providence of God linking together the right people at the right time for the purpose of sending Jesus (Romans 5:6).
For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. ~Romans 5:6
Although sometimes it is difficult to understand, God had us in mind from the beginning. Even though man gave up his right to the tree of life, God provided a way to bring us back to Him. He desires that reunion with us still today (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
