Hey, there! My name is Kristen and these are the things that make up my life…
I use my college degree in Merchandising and Interiors to make life pretty. I’ve never technically been an interior designer, but I’m pretty sure I’ve used my degree in every job (paid or unpaid) I’ve ever had. I love colors and symmetry and beautiful design. I think everything in life relates back to its Creator, and I feel a special kinship with Him when I create and design little projects of my own.
Cooking and baking are a big part of who I am – and I especially enjoy trying (and tweaking) new recipes. I want very badly to have a green thumb, but it’s a struggle. I have the best luck with herbs – and well, that’s O.K., because some of our favorite recipes include fresh herbs!
I call myself a “cruise director” (um, even though I’ve never been on a cruise) because parties and events – and fun times in general – are MY THING. My favorites are parties of the tea variety. 😉 Especially this HUGE tea party fundraiser I’m a co-chair for every spring. But I also enjoy planning book club meetings (hello, Literary Ladies!) and Pinterest Parties and simply gathering friends to picnic at the drop of a hat.
I think words are awesome – I adore reading…my favorites are Christian fiction and non-fiction, self-help books (I’ve got an addiction), funny text messages (quite a few from my Ruffled Mango co-horts!), blog posts, recipes, and the Bible, of course. =)
Jeremy is my husband/better half (he’s got the green thumb) and he’s just the funniest and best guy ever. We like to build furniture and critique house plans together. I’m totally sure you’ll hear some more about him in my posts! The only kid we have so far is a furry little guy named Auggie…but he’s definitely part of the family. =)
