Are you writing along with us this month? We’re finishing up the second week of our Harvest scripture writing plan, and we’ve been taking a closer look at the book of Ruth. After all, there’s lots of harvesting going on in that book (both literally and figuratively) 🌾 It’s a beautiful thing. (And don’t you just love Boaz?? My Jeremy is definitely a Boaz. ❤️)
If you enjoy studying the book of Ruth like I do (and want to take a deeper dive ), you’ll appreciate these extra resources that I’d love to pass along. First off, the Holy Ghost Stories podcast just finished a 3-episode arc about Naomi, Ruth, & Boaz (first episode linked here) – and it is incredibly lovely and well-written. Old Testament storytelling at its finest!
Next up is A Lineage of Grace (affiliate link), a book from Francine Rivers that I read (and LOVED) earlier this year. It’s a collection of 5 fictional stories written about the women in Jesus’ genealogy: Tamar, Rahab, Ruth, Bathsheba, & Mary. I recommend all 5 stories very highly, but go ahead and skip to Ruth while we’ve been talking about her this month. (Then go back and read the rest!) This is a big book but it was one I was sad to see end. A Lineage of Grace is definitely on my short list of books that I would reread. ❤️
A third resource I’d love to pass along is Christy’s video series on the Book of Ruth. Not only is this a special study because it’s in video form, but Christy also created beautiful worksheets, a couple of games, a song lyric printable, and some pretty smartphone wallpapers for this Bible study. From now until the end of this month, it’s 50% off. 😄 The coupon is already applied here: The Book of Ruth Bible study.
I hope you enjoy these fun extra resources on Ruth as we continue to study the theme of Harvest this month. 🌾 Stay tuned for our Week 2 Wrap-up tomorrow on our Facebook page! ~Kristen
What are your other books on the short list of ones to reread?
Donna – here are a few of my very favorites (though maybe I need to do a whole post about them, ha!): The Measure of Katie Calloway (novel) by Serena Miller, The Blue Castle (novel) by L.M. Montgomery, and Gentle and Lowly (nonfiction) by Dane Ortlund.
