Discernment is one of those words we see in Scripture, but we may only have a cursory understanding of what it means. The Bible has a lot to say about the topic, so that’s why Discernment is the topic for June’s Scripture Writing Plan.
When I think of discernment, my mind goes to Solomon. You know the account, where he has to decide between the women fighting over the baby. If you haven’t read that passage in a while, head on over to 1 Kings 3 and start in verse 16. The whole episode is sad, and it shows why we should pray for our leaders to have wisdom, regardless of how we feel about them.

This month we’ll be writing verses about discerning between right and wrong, why we should pursue understanding, and the true source of wisdom. Spoiler alert: It’s the Lord. 😉
This topic is a perfect segue from Fruitful, because we can’t bear fruit if we aren’t trained to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. And let’s be honest, even “seasoned” Christians sometimes struggle with conforming to the world. We have to be diligent in transforming and renewing our minds (which leads into next month’s plan, but we’ll revisit that in July. 😉)
A REMINDER…
There is no new Bible study this month (August’s study is not far away!), but we want to remind you about our NEW subscription program through Teachable. If you already have a Patreon with us, we can help you switch over so you can still access ALL of your materials. We will phase out Patreon over the next few months, but don’t worry! There’s still plenty of time to switch over. Contact us via Patreon, this blog post, or send us a message on Facebook. We’ll help you get set up.
We offer two options: the $10/month Abundant Lifer subscription and the $25/month Gospel Spreader subscription. Both will give you LOTS of bonuses (many that we now aren’t able to offer separately otherwise) and will also help us keep various Bible studies & our monthly scripture writing plans FREE for all ladies.
Also, just a reminder that it helps if you link to the blog post when sharing the Scripture Writing Plan. It directs ladies to other plans and study tools while helping us connect with our readers/writers and create future plans! ❤️✍🏼📖
THANK YOU!
This past weekend, the Ruffled Mango was able to be a sponsor of the FHU Victorian Tea Party by the FHU Associates to raise money for student scholarships to Freed-Hardeman University. We couldn’t support causes like this without YOU. So thank you for all the ways you continue to support and encourage us in this work. To God be all the glory, now and forever. 💗
