Our newest study – The Obstacle Course – is right here waiting for you! Here’s a little more about how this course can help you succeed in making Bible study a daily occurrence, no matter your learning style!

While my husband and I make a pretty good team, we receive and process information VERY differently.
He is very detail oriented, often repeats information back several times, and explains requests in triplicate (literally). He functions well digitally, and favors apps for calendars and note-keeping. He likes to take time to think things out, doesn’t rush to decisions, and works things out in a step-by-step process.
I, on the other hand, am almost opposite. I like to know the big picture – the end goal – and prefer to only be told things once. I am often forgetful though, so I write EVERYTHING down. I’m usually not far from a pad of Post-It notes, a floral journal, or my trusty yearly calendar. While I do use an app for our family calendar so that we can at least be synced for appointments and family reminders, I prefer everything in pen and paper. I usually know what I want or like, and while I do like to plan things, I sometimes prefer to “just wing it.”
Here at The Ruffled Mango, each of us also prefer different ways of receiving and processing information. But this is something we use to our advantage! If you haven’t noticed – or maybe don’t know us just yet! – we like to use lots of visuals (that we generate in house!), question and answer formats within our lessons, and worksheets to help guide readers though the process of learning Biblical information. There’s so much to process that we try to incorporate all learning styles into our studies to ensure successful retention of information.
Our current study, The Obstacle Course, has been a Herculean task of digging deep into the what and the why of intentional, purposeful, daily Bible study. We have taken this topic apart, bit by bit, to learn more about how we as Christians can make Bible study a larger part of our day. We Mangoes know, from much personal experience, that there are so many temptations and interferences that can take time away from daily devotion. So we are taking a look at how we can remedy this and make certain we plan time with God in his word.

We have incorporated several worksheets throughout this study. These help get your thoughts out so you can work through them visually and keep track of any extra thoughts or questions you may have about the lesson.

We’ve configured beautiful wallpapers & printable (frame-able!) graphics with key scriptures included. (I think this might be our favorite part! ;D ) These can be used any way you wish! Print! Save! Share! We personally like print outs to use in the seasonal decor of our homes. And phone and computer wallpapers make scriptures easily memorable when possibly looking at screens multiple times a day!

Last but definitely not least, we’ve included some self-help charts (think chores, meal planning, etc.). If you’re like me, I NEED VISUALS!!! I like to see a plan and have things written down so I can remember them easily. We have several charts that go along with The Obstacle Course lessons that I know will help simplify your daily routine… and by doing so, make more time for Bible study!
There really is something for EVERYONE! If you’re interested in learning more about this study, please visit the course page to find out how you can be involved. We’d love for you (and all your friends!) to join us as we study together!
